Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect sample in red without gel separator. Allow filled tube to clot at 22°C-37°C for 30-60 minutes. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Laboratory Staff Instructions: CH50 may be decreased by: delayed separation of serum, insufficient clotting, prolonged storage at room temperature, use of plasma, presence of immune complexes, cryoglobulins, bacteria or particulates. Centrifuge at room Temperature. Aliquot into storage tube and freeze as soon as possible. Store and send frozen. Rejection Criteria: Unlabeled or samples of none sufficient quantity. Plasma, lipemic and grossly hemolyzed specimens are not suitable for analysis. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Stability: Stable at room temperature for 8 hours, refrigerated for 48 Hrs and frozen at -20°C or colder for 20 days. Thaw samples only once. Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible. |
