Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Label container and requisition with patient information and specimen source. Specify which tube number to run test on sample container. Please Note: Serum is also required to perform this test. Serum must be available in the laboratory within 3 days of CSF collection. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Laboratory Staff Instructions: Enter date and time collection in the LIS. Specify sample number in order comment. Stability: Stable for 1 day at 15-25°C, at least 7 days at 2-8°C and for 6 months at -20°C or lower temperature Transportation: Send to lab immediately for specimen processing. Do not send via the pneumatic tube system. |
