Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect sample in a lavender top and send to core lab. Ensure sample is mixed adequately.Test done Monday to friday at 13:00 only. Sample needs to be in lab by 1pm on fridays. Do not draw on Fridays after 13:00 and on weekends. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Stability: Stable for 24hrs at room temperature and 3 days refrigerated. Transportation: Transport at room temperature within 1 hour of collection. Lab Instrustions Ensure Samples is delivered together with requisition to the blue bin at flow Cytometry as soon as possible. Sample Rejection Criteria:Clotted sample, Grossly hemolyzed samples, Unlabeled or Not Sufficient Quantity Samples will be rejected. Samples collected after 1pm on friday until 30hrs before the start of the next business day will be rejected. |
