Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Serum or heparinized plasma collected with or without gel separator. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label or requisition. Special Instructions Serum or heparinized plasma free from hemolysis collected with or without gel separator. Separate serum or plasma from cells within 2 hours of collection Rejection Criteria: Gross hemolysis, Unlabeled or Not Sufficient Quantity Samples will be rejected. Stability: AST is stable for 1 day at room temperature, 1 week, refrigerated at 2–8°C and frozen for 1 month. Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible. |
