Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Fasting Specimen Preferred. Collect in prechilled 2 lavender tubes (EDTA). Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Special Instructions: Centrifuge in a refrigerated centrifuge. Separate plasma from cells ASAP and freeze 2 aliquots. Requires simultaneous cortisol for interpretation Rejection Criteria: Thawed samples. Serum and heparinized plasma samples are unacceptable. Stability: Sample stable refrigerated for 4 hours and frozen for 31 days. Transportation: Transport on ice to core lab as soon as possible. |
