Transplant wait list
For patients on the transplant wait list, it is extremely important to send a serum sample for antibody screening (PRA) every three months. This should be done from the dialysis centre. A missed sample means the patient will be omitted from crossmatching and will not be considered for transplant in the subsequent three months.
The times for drawing samples are:
- January 1 - 15
- April 1 - 15
- July 1 - 15
- October 1 - 15
Please send (1) 10 mL red top tube within five working days of blood collection to:

Please label each sample with the following information:
- Patient name
- TGLN #
- Transplant hospital: St. Michael’s Hospital
- Blood type
- Date sample collected
