greet patients at check in
help patients complete paperwork
serve as a resource for patients in waiting areas (answering questions about length of wait, washrooms, Hospital facilities, use of telephones, etc.)
prepare charts
clerical support to the unit (filing, photocopying)
call patients to confirm appointments
run errands for staff (i.e. Stores) and patients (i.e. Gift Shop)
maintain waiting areas in good order (organize magazines, replenish coffee and cookies)
escort patients to change rooms or to other departments (i.e. Medical Imaging)
provide blankets
help with calling of taxis
distribute information sheets to patients
check on status of patients and inform families in waiting area
