Monitoring

The St. Michael's Hospital's Research Ethics Monitor conducts regular audits of clinical research. Working closely with the Research Ethics Board, the Monitor provides advice and recommendations to improve clinical research excellence. Audit procedures include a review of

  • Study documentation
  • Compliance with approved protocol
  • Assurance of an informed consent process
  • External reporting compliance

The Monitor helps to ensure research projects are compliant with federal and provincial guidelines as well as research sponsor requirements. The Monitor also provides investigators with advice to promote excellence in the organization and execution of clinical research throughout the Hospital.
