The Nikon inverted widefield/fluorescent microscope has Plan Fluor lenses with phase contrast and differential interference contrast (DIC) capabilities. It has a motorized X/Y/Z stage, a dual Sutter Lambda filter wheel changer for the independent selection of excitation and emission filters and a Hamamatsu Orca ER digital CCD camera for image capture.
The entire stage in enclosed by an incubator containing a heating stage, temperature and CO2 regulators for long-term live cell recording. Live cell imaging can be carried out over a period of several days and simultaneous time-lapse acquisition can be carried out from several X/Y/Z coordinates.
