Inverted DM IRE2 motorized microscope. Fiber optic coupled transmitted light imaging capability, phase and DIC optics.

3-channel, alignment free AOTF confocal scan head in the range of 400-800 nm. Capable of multidimensional series acquisition, sequential scan in stack, frame and line modes.

Software includes excitation within preselected ROI’s, spectral unmixing, lambda scan, FRAP, FRET, FLIP wizards, colocalization analysis.

Temperature controlled chamber including heating insert for Petri dishes, temperature control unit

Fully motorized microscope with remote controlled LCD touch screen. Motorized XY stage and a piezo z-motor. During long-term recordings, Definite focus keeps objects in focus.

Includes structured illumination module, the ApoTome for deblurring optical sections of fluorescent samples.

Incubation stage inserts for all types of dishes, humidified air, controller for variable CO2 levels and O2 levels for hypoxia experiments. Highly sensitive Hamamatsu Orca R2 CCD camera and an AxioCam colour camera. A wide selection of standard filter cubes and a fast acquisition Colibri LED- based module with microsecond switching speeds.

Image capture is with a Nikon DSF1c color digital camera using Nikon Elements software.

The Nikon inverted widefield/fluorescent microscope has a Xenon fluorescent light source and a Hamamatsu Orca ER monochrome digital CCD camera for image capture. It has Plan Fluor lenses with phase contrast and differential interference contrast capabilities.

Leica upright microscope has motorized objective nosepiece, specimen movement (xy), and focusing (z).

Nitrogen laser has a wavelength of 337nm, a pulse repeat rate up to 30Hz and motorized optical beam scanning and setting of the illumination aperture

Software controls all the motorized microscope functions and laser movements. The smallest cutting area with the 100x objective has a diameter of 4-5µm and an accuracy of +/- 0.6µm

Analysis software
Imaris image

Imaris from Bitplane allows the visualization of data stacks in a real-time interactive manner. Its segmentation algorithms let you separate objects and visualize them in 3D volume rendering. It includes analysis tools for measurements and tracking of cell movements over time. Data can be further displayed as animations. Another available functionality is the calculation of colocalization coefficients.

Autoquant deconvolution program removes out-of-focus or fluorescent signal from single images and image stacks.

Adobe Creative Suite

Fiji is the latest version of ImageJ, bundling many plugins in the original version and continuously updating as well as adding new ones.

Neurolucida 3D reconstruction and analysis of tubular, strand-like structures such as blood vessels.
