AHRC methods

Better answers. Better health.

With access to world-renowned statisticians, scientists, clinicians, and methodological experts, the AHRC can provide design, support, and scientific expertise to develop leading edge research. Unlike other AROs or CROs, the AHRC is not focused simply on a single clinical area, but leverages its experience to provide services in a broad range of clinical areas.

Go big.

The AHRC partnered with a young investigator from the University of Toronto to transform an idea for a small local stroke prevention study into a large national multi-centre trial with nearly $1 million in external funding. 

Go where others can’t.

An investigator and commercial sponsor approached the AHRC to help execute a study on a vaccine for use in children from aboriginal communities.  The AHRC leveraged its unique expertise in site management and coordination to execute this unique project for both the investigator and commercial sponsor.

Link with unique partners.

A large cancer agency wanted to do a national phone survey on cancer prevention and translate it into a large scale marketing campaign… in three months!  The AHRC partnered academic cancer experts, qualitative research experts, a leading marketing research organization, an advertising agency, and knowledge translation experts to design and execute the project on schedule.

The AHRC is part of the Keenan Research Centre in the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute of St. Michael’s Hospital. The Knowledge Institute is a trailblazing facility bringing together leading edge research and new models of education to shape the future of medicine and bring advances in healthcare to patient bedsides faster than ever before.
