Material Transfer
St. Michael's promotes research by providing research materials to the academic community on a no-charge or at-cost basis.
For-profit entities seeking access to Hospital research materials should contact the technology transfer liaison to discuss entering into a license arrangement.
Non-Profit Material Transfer
The following procedure must be followed to obtain research materials:
- Complete the material transfer agreement (17 KB pdf file)
- Send the completed and signed material transfer agreement to the attention of:
Research Business Analyst
St. Michael's
Office of Research Administration
193 Yonge Street
7th Floor (attention Dina Coronios)
Toronto ON M5B 1M8
Once the Office of Research Administration (ORA) receives the signed agreement in unaltered form, it will confirm with the provider scientist that it is acceptable to send the materials. If acceptable to the provider scientist, the materials will be sent.
Provision of the materials to the recipient will constitute St. Michael's's acceptance of the unaltered agreement. Modifications to the terms of this template are not expected and will require approval from the Hospital signing authority. Please note that because the Hospital's material transfer agreement template was developed to be consistent with the universal biological material transfer agreement standards, St. Michael's does not expect to negotiate the terms of this agreement.
St. Michael's retains the right to decline to enter into the agreement by not sending the materials. Depending on the material in question, third party rights and the requirements of the provider scientist, the Hospital may require use of a more detailed template.
Personal Health Information Transfer
The following procedure must be followed to obtain personal health information and biological samples for research purposes:
