Services: Drug Distribution

The pharmacy department distributes medications for admitted patients using individually prepared and labeled “unit dose” 24-hour supplies of medication. We also prepare medications that require compounding under aseptic conditions to maintain their sterility, including chemotherapy, intravenous nutrition, and other specialty medications.

All medications are stored, prepared and dispensed to meet legislated and professional practice standards and to ensure safety and accuracy.

The research pharmacy will dispense all medications provided to patients as part of a clinical trial approved for the Research Ethics Board.
