Dr. Ethel Ying, Active Primary
General Pediatrics, Neonatology

Dr. Ethel Ying is a staff neonatologist/pediatrician at St. Michael's Hospital and assistant professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. Her clinical interests include the followup care of the preterm population including developmental outcomes and nutrition. These interests led to the development of the Neonatal Follow-Up Clinic at St. Michael's Hospital in 2003 and in 2013, the implementation of a nutrition follow-up Clinic for extremely low birth weight neonates. She is also interested in the importance of the active participation of families in the care of NICU population, leading to the implementation of family integrated care model within the St. Michael's Hospital NICU in 2016. Her current research focus is parental and neonatal outcomes with Family Integrated Care in an advanced Level 2 NICU setting and is participating in a multi-site study to evaluate these outcomes.
