Steps to Less™ Workplace Wellness Program

It used to be that eating right was just a matter of common sense. But these days many people feel they need in-depth knowledge of nutrition, to either help them shed pounds or to keep up with mounting scientific evidence that certain foods may cause or help prevent disease. Every day we are faced with new stories about nutrition – stories that are often conflicting or confusing.

Nutrition seminars, workshops and wellness programs are a wonderful opportunity to offer your employees practical nutrition education thought by Toronto's leading health professionals in a fun and casual environment. Our registered dietitians can make sense of the food one eats and translate scientific nutrition advice into practical strategies that suits one's lifestyle. They can help you make long–term changes to your eating patterns and nutritional needs. They address not only what you eat, but also how and when you eat, since this too affects your energy level, your weight and your metabolism.

These nutrition seminars and workshops can be a great addition to your health and safety events and Employee Wellness Week. Implementing a health program within your place of business will benefit both the health of your company and your employees by improving work performance, increasing productivity and reducing absenteeism.

This will result in lowering your Worker's Compensation and Disability costs, saving your company thousands of dollars in productivity.

Each seminar and workshop is presented in an interactive format and is prepared to reflect the most current evidence based research and findings. Typically these seminars and wellness programs are one, one and a half or two hours in length and range form single session "fundamentals" classes to six-part "skill development series". These sessions can be adapted to a "lunch and learn", power breakfast (early morning) or after work education session. For longer, half to full day sessions we can expand on the topic of your choice on greater detail, combine several topics, or custom build your own depending on the interest of your group.

All Seminars and Workshops Include:

  • Presentation by the Registered Dietitian.
  • Fifty, eighty or hundred minute power-point presentation, depending whether it's a one, one and a half or two hour session.
  • Take home informational handouts for the attendees to reinforce the information presented.
  • Ten-minute question and answer period would conclude each session.

Choose from a variety of seminar and workshop topics (listed below but not limited to) that can be presented over several weeks or months depending how many you're employees would be interested in.
