Dietitian Services
Our registered dietitians (RDs) are clinical, administrative, education
and research practitioners, who are members of the College of Dietitians
of Ontario, a health profession regulated under Ontario law. In addition
to the minimum requirements necessary to become an RD, a significant
number of our dietitians have additional graduate training and have
sub-specialties in adult education, applied science, or business.
- Clinical dietitians teach dietitians in training and provide nutritional
patient care services in six program areas:
- Administrative dietitians direct our patient food and hospitality
services and teach dietitians in training.
- Educational and research dietitians co-ordinate the nutritional
studies of staff RDs, dietetic interns and students in master’s
programs.
- Be careful when you see the title "nutritionist." It
is not protected and therefore can be used by anyone, whether or
not they have the appropriate education and training. When looking
for a reliable source for nutrition information, be sure to consult
an RD.
