Patient Food Services

Patient Food Services provides balanced, nutritious meals for inpatients, outpatients, day clinics and community clients.

Food service during your inpatient stay

• Our patient menu accommodates a wide variety of diets, including Asian, Kosher and all levels of vegetarianism.
• If you are on a special diet, have food allergies or intolerances, inform your nurse as soon as you arrive at the Hospital.
• We offer several choices for each meal. To ensure you get your selections, a menu is delivered to you and returned to the diet office every day.
• Weekly menus can be printed for patients to make it easy for family members to assist with choosing meals.
• Between meal snacks are provided upon request.
• We strive to help improve the enjoyment of your meals. Comments can be written on the menu or phoned in at Ext. 2794.

Food Purchases

Outpatients may purchase specialty items as required. These may include liquid nutritional products or a variety of thickened products for people who experience difficulty swallowing.

Pureed Food Products

St. Michael's Hospital is a distributor of Campbell's TrePuree Foods. TrePuree Foods are pureed meals that ensure safe swallowing and controlled meat, vegetable and potato portions with each serving.

Other Products Available

We also offer kosher meals, thickened beverages and thickening products, puddings, and more. To purchase oral supplements, arrangements must be made through your dietitian. Please consult our full product and price list.

Ordering Information

Products can be ordered anytime by calling the diet office at 416-864-6060 Ext. 2794.

Products can be picked up at the hospital from Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or 2:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.
