Test Name


Gold Tube Specimen Type/Requirements

Container Type = 1 Gold Top

Minimum Volume = 3-5 ml Blood

Specimen Handling

Collection Instructions: Collect 1 gold tube top(SST). Invert sample 6-8 times after collection to ensure sample is well mixed. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label or requisition.

Special Instructions: Serum should be separated from cells within 1 hour. Subsequent freezing and thawing must be avoided since this may lead to a loss of activity.

Rejection Criteria: Do not use plasma, grossly, hemolysed, lipemic specimens Unlabeled or Not Sufficient Quantity Samples will be rejected.

Stability: Specimens may be retained at 2-8°C for up to 7 days or be stored aliquoted and frozen at -20°C.

Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible.
