Specimen Handling

Collection Instructions: Random urine collected in red top vacutainer or sterile urine container, Ensure both sample and requisition are labelled properly.

Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label.

Stability:Stable for 1 week at 2-8°C..

Transportation:Transport at room temperature ASAP.

Laboratory Staff Instructions: No aliquoting is necessary for urine Osmolality. Samples are analyzed by the gas bench.

Sample Rejection Criteria: Unlabeled, leaking and/or Non sufficient quantity (Not Sufficient Quantity) will be rejected.
