Test Name


Gold Tube Specimen Type / Requirements

Container Type = 1 Gold Top

Minimum Volume = 2 ml Serum (SST)

Tubes must fill to at least ½ or greater of its vacuum capacity

Specimen Handling

Collection Instructions: Collect sample in gold or red top tube. Fasting specimen preferred. Gel-separator tubes are acceptable. Non-fasting specimen may be used to evaluate pancreatic reserve at the discretion of the physician Plasma (Na-Heparin,Li-Heparin) is acceptable Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label.

Special Instructions Separate from cells within 2 hours of collection. Store and send frozen. If the specimen thaws, it is unsuitable for analysis

Rejection Criteria: Unlabeled or Not Sufficient Quantity Samples will be rejected.

Stability: Stable refrigerated: 7 days, Frozen: 28 days, @ -70°C: 1 year.

Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible.
