Is the placement of a catheter (tube) to drain a fluid collection in the abdomen or pelvis. This procedure can be performed either in the CT Scan room or in the interventional angiography rooms by a radiologist. The area of interest is numbed using local anaesthetic, then a small catheter is placed into the collection.

The procedure takes about 1/2 hour.
