We provide a full range of primary, inpatient and palliative care in several locations throughout the Hospital. In addition to the services listed below, our HIV service includes six dedicated medical beds, negative pressure rooms that allow us to care for people with airborne illnesses, an inpatient mental health unit with expertise in HIV/AIDS, a large ambulatory care service that operates daily and averages 4000 visits per year, and the hepatitis clinic, which operates twice monthly and specializes in treating patients co-infected
with the HIV and Hepatitis C viruses.
Infectious diseases and HIV specialists provide care to daytime patients through a prearranged appointment in the fourth floor of the Cardinal Carter north wing everyday from Monday to Friday.

Patients requiring urgent care can bypass the emergency department and receive direct assessment by caregivers familiar with their history. Clinical trials and research are strong elements of our service, as are highly developed community linkages and partnerships. We also have facilities for infusions and transfusions.
