Education and Research
General internal medicine is affiliated with the University of Toronto. A long tradition of teaching excellence continues with division members winning many teaching awards. The division is committed to excellence in patient care and teaching. We continue to be ranked as the preferred site for internal medicine training at the University of Toronto for both undergraduate and postgraduate trainees.
The unit also serves as a training ground for students of nursing and allied health from universities and colleges throughout Toronto.
Research in the division flourishes and we are continually seeking
opportunities to pursue research initatives with regard to inner
city health, vulnerable populations, HIV, care for the homeless,
fetal maternal care and diabetes.
