Connected in Motion

Connected in motion is a group that seeks to bring together people with Type 1 diabetes who enjoy living an active life. They organize outdoor adventures across Canada and the United States and have a variety of opportunities for volunteering.

Diabetes Canada

The Canadian Diabetes Association is a great resource for people with all types of diabetes. Their website has links to education resources, community programs, diabetes research, diabetes advocacy, volunteer opportunities and more.

JDRF

JDRF is a research foundation that is heavily involved in diabetes research and supporting advocacy for people with Type 1 diabetes. JDRF also offers opportunities to get involved through fundraising, volunteering, and events.

Type 1 Diabetes Think Tank

The Type 1 Diabetes think tank seeks to develop collaboration between people with type 1 diabetes and healthcare providers working in diabetes in order to improve the healthcare experience of people with Type 1 diabetes. Their website features a “Conversation Guide” that was developed to help support conversations between people with Type 1 diabetes and their health care providers.

Diatribe

Diatribe is an online publication that seeks to provide people with diabetes (both Type 1 and Type 2) with up-to-date information about diabetes, including new research, medications, technology, and more.
