For Media
For members of the media interested in speaking to a physician, researcher or staff member at St. Michael's, please contact the public relations department at 416-864-5034 or after hours by pager at 416-685-5068.
To help ensure the appropriate staff and patients are notified and secured for your request, the public relations department must be notified in advance of any interviews or photo opportunities. A public relations representative must also accompany media when at St. Michael's. For more on the hospital's media policy, see below.
The public relations team also facilitates filming (for feature films, television and special projects) on the premises.

Hospital policy:
- Staff and/or patient consent is required for interviews, filming or photo opportunities. In some cases, medical staff may be asked to assess a patient's ability to provide consent.
- Members of the media visiting inpatient areas are required to sign a privacy and confidentiality form. This is to ensure that patient privacy is protected.
- In accordance with provincial privacy legislation - Bill 31, Personal Health Information Protection Act, our staff cannot confirm the admittance or condition of a patient unless that individual has provided consent to the Hospital.
- The media is encouraged to identify staff and physicians by their Hospital title in stories related to the individual's work or role at the Hospital.
