Patient voice: What it’s like to wait in the ED

A patient tells us why it’s important to improve our wait times in the Emergency Department.

Improving wait times in the St. Michael’s Emergency Department has been a long journey, but we are making progress. Hearing Patty’s story, we know there is more work to do. This short video explores a new process that St. Michael’s is piloting to help get patients such as Patty admitted as soon as possible. By predicting and communicating a patient’s expected date of discharge early in their stay, we’ll improve hospital-wide planning and our patients’ experiences.
