St. Michael’s Foundation’s Urban Angel Golf Classic continues to hit its mark. Already Canada’s most successful one-day hospital charity golf tournament, it netted $1,057,000 for St. Michael’s – the eighth consecutive year of raising more than one million dollars for the hospital.

More than 280 golfers took to the links at Angus Glen Golf Course on July 16, 2014 for the twenty-seventh Urban Angel Golf Classic.

PGA TOUR Canada was a proud supporter this year. Six professional golfers were on the course, offering tips and giving golfers a leg-up by providing teams with astounding tee shots on six different holes.

The first Urban Angel Golf Classic was organized by St. Michael’s Engineering Department in 1987; they raised $17,000 dollars. Over the years it’s matured because of the fierce commitment of volunteers and donors.

“This wouldn’t be the marquee event that it is without the efforts of volunteers,” said Michael J. Norris, Chair, St. Michael’s Foundation Board of Directors. “We’re remarkably lucky to have a trio of co-chairs who have done everything they can to make the St. Michael’s Urban Angel Golf Classic successful.”
