St. Michael’s first-ever community annual report

Toronto, June 20, 2013

By Emily Holton

On July 6, St. Michael’s first-ever report to our community will be delivered to patients, neighbours and friends in our catchment area as an insert in the Toronto Star. Copies will also be available in waiting rooms and patient care areas across the hospital.

The colourful, user-friendly report provides a great overview of St. Michael’s different activities and reviews key accomplishments over the past year.

This is a new approach to an annual report that we hope will be fun and accessible for patients and families as well as staff.

Some highlights:

  • A simple graphic describing how patients flow to and from different parts of the hospital
  • Stories about our work to reduce wait times in the ED and in outpatient clinics
  • Innovations across the hospital to ensure that our care is safe, top-quality and patient-centred
  • Outreach activities to bring care where it’s needed most
  • Research that’s informed and inspired improvements to health care and health policies
  • Education activities to help our patients and staff act on the best-available knowledge
  • Details about our massive renewal project, including plans for a new patient care tower
  • Profiles of this year’s staff Values in Action winners
  • Quality statistics and funding information

Please check out the report online, or pick up a hard copy in any of the hospital lobbies.
