Life Insurance

There are a number of ways to give a gift of a new or existing life insurance policy naming St. Michael's Hospital Foundation as a beneficiary. In return:

  • You receive peace of mind in building a sizeable gift for the future with relatively small premiums now.
  • You can make a significant future contribution toward saving lives, for a small annual cost now.
  • Your gift of life insurance is tax deductible, and you can either receive donation receipts equal to the premiums you pay each year or your estate can receive a donation receipt upon your death.
  • Your estate is protected, since life insurance is considered separate from your estate.
  • A gift of life insurance is not subject to probate fees or settlement delays, and cannot be contested.
Susan LevesqueDonor Story

Susan Grimshaw Levesque has come a long way since working her first summer job at St. Michael's Hospital many years ago. Today she is an investment advisor and often advises clients on estate planning, but she hasn't forgotten St. Michael's Hospital. "The staff have a special touch and genuinely care about their patients, while at the same time are great professionals."

Susan took out life insurance and named the St. Michael's Hospital Foundation as the beneficiary. "It's a win-win situation for those who are insurable because they pay the monthly premiums and receive a tax receipt, and it's a way of investing in the community by making a gift to a charity."
