Continuous improvement: looking inward

With students of today constantly changing to face a rapidly evolving world, it's critical to keep a finger on the pulse of the student body. With that mindset, St. Michael's made it a priority to measure our students' level of engagement, in order to identify and build on what's working and make improvements where needed. Not only has that priority become a reality with the Student Engagement Survey, but St. Michael's has taken a leadership role across all Toronto Academic Health Science Network hospitals.

Taking the initiative to form and lead the TAHSN Education Learner Engagement Working Group, St. Michael's has played a pivotal role in the creation of a standardized tool that will be used across the TAHSN to identify each hospital's areas of strength and improvement.

With the Student Engagement Survey, St. Michael's can quickly identify when past approaches are no longer getting through to current students. Through collaboration, TAHSN hospitals will be able to respond quickly and evolve together to tailor programs to the diverse and dynamic student population of the Toronto area.
