Survey Research Unit (SRU) - Our Approach

Centre for Research on Inner City Health - Keenan Research Centre

Sources of Survey Error

Sources of Survey Error Source: SRU Methods 2010. Based on: Flower JF, 2009 - Survey Research Methods & Groves RM 1989 - Survey Errors and Survey Costs.

High-quality and efficient survey research projects must balance three interrelated components:

  1. Study objectives
  2. Real-world limits and possibilities
  3. Study design

The SRU makes the most of each component and delivers valid and reliable data.

To collect data of the highest quality, the SRU works with preventative, monitoring, and cleaning protocols that shape all internal data collection processes. These protocols address the main sources of survey error.
