Peel Public Health protects and promotes health, prevents disease and reduces health disparities through a population health approach. Peel Public Health serves Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon, with a population of 1.2 million, many of whom are immigrants.

Peel Public Health has a strong interest in both research (including community-based research) and knowledge translation/evidence-informed decision making.  We have strong experience in working with university researchers and in multi-partner consortia, including some funded by CIHR, CHSRF and CPAC.  We have also commissioned research.

The main areas of interest are the built environment and health, ethno-cultural and immigrant health issues, nutrition/physical activity/obesity/diabetes, and workforce development in public health.
