How Media Works
How do journalists, editors and story producers - the ‘media’ - decide how and when to cover urban health issues? Does their coverage make a difference in our collective understanding of the issues? And if so, how?
What role can researchers play in sharing research findings via the media? In short: how can we and why should we join the ‘media dialogue’?
At the Centre for Research for Inner City Health (CRICH) our ultimate mission is to improve the health of urban populations - in Toronto and beyond. Our rigorous research provides real evidence to help change policy and practice to do just that.
"How Media Works" is a new speaker series for 2009-2010 hosted by CRICH. The goal of this series is to help researchers develop effective relationships with the media.
The series will include panels and informal opportunities to talk with seasoned media professionals. Please join us at “How Media Works” to learn more about what goes on behind the scenes and upfront to create a powerful news story.
