Across Boundaries is a mental health centre that provides a range of support and services to people of colour in the Greater Toronto Area who are experiencing severe mental health problems/serious mental illness.  We have a holistic approach to mental health care and operate within an anti-racism/anti oppression framework.

Working from an anti-racism/anti-oppression approach ensures that we are constantly vigilant about the health inequities  faced by racialized communities.  Furthermore part of our organizatios strategic directions over the next few years is to ensure that we participate in research activities that will look at the impact of health inequities on our target population so as to inform the development of more effective and informed services.  Recognizing that there is a big gap in terms of data collection and research around this issue makes this a priority for our organization.

Our previous work has looked at issues around youth in racialized communities, mental health and addiction issues for r older adults in racialized communities, concurrent disorder and also trauma in racialized communities to name a few.  Please visit our website for more information and copies of these reports.
